Brenda Mueller
Founder/Executive Director

Brenda Mueller
was discovered by a singing teacher at an early age and
encouraged to develop her remarkable singing voice. Having
studied with several premier vocalists, instructors, and coaches
she embarked on a versatile musical career that has spanned more
than 25 years. She has been a featured soloist throughout the
United States and was well-received on her European tour. Her
numerous operatic and musical theatre roles include such beloved
favorites as the title role in "Lakme",
"Mimi" (La Boheme),
"Pamina" (Die Zauberflote), "Susanna" (Le
Nozze di Figaro), and "Sophie" (Der
Rosenkavalier). In addition to an outstanding voice
and unusually broad vocal range, her musical skills also extend
to the piano, and she has had a successful career as a vocal
accompanist to numerous performing and recording artists.
Recently her talents have been focused on giving back to the
community through regional benefit and charitable concerts as
well as assisting children in finding their passion for music,
having touched the lives of over 4000 young people.
Currently, her busy schedule includes a private voice studio,
from which she coaches many distinguished singers,
instrumentalists, and recording groups, as well as directing and
coordinating various aspects of Lyric Light Opera of the
Northwest, the founding
of which was the fulfillment of a lifelong dream.
She has directed several musicals in recent years, including
Annie Get Your Gun, The
Sound of Music, Annie, Brigadoon and Oklahoma - all of which
reflect her trademark of excellence and highest
quality - from the elaborate/breathtaking sets, authentic
costumes, angelic vocal performances to the heartwarming and
uplifting messages. They not only satisfied the most
critical viewer, but received rave reviews from industry
professionals as well.
Leslie Asplund, Ph. D.
Managing Director/Producer

Leslie Asplund began as a performer but her love of the arts
eventually led her into directing and producing as well.
Singing, dancing and acting since she was 3 years old, she
managed to maintain her involvement in the arts while developing
two other careers; first, as an assistant director in film and
television, and, more recently, as a psychotherapist and
educator. As an Assistant Director in Hollywood, she worked at
all the major film studios including Warner Brothers, Universal,
MGM, Paramount, and Twentieth Century Fox. Television series
included: "Happy Days", "Emergency", "Charlie's Angels", "Cagney
and Lacey", "9 to 5", "Here's Boomer" and many others. Feature
films included: "The Goonies", "Audrey Rose", "Day of the
Locust" and others. She sang with vocal jazz groups in Los
Angeles and Seattle, and performed in musicals such as "The
Sound of Music", "Bye, Bye Birdie", "Fiddler On the Roof",
"Annie Get Your Gun", "Carnival" and "Unsinkable Molly Brown",
and plays such as "The Hostage" and "Hot L Baltimore". She
toured extensively in the United States, Western Europe, Eastern
Europe and Russia with the Voices of Baha choir, appearing on
recordings made in Moscow and Bratislava. She has specialized
in producing arts programming for large conferences, infusing
the arts into workshops and seminars (sometimes numbering as
many as 50) as well as producing gala classical and jazz
concerts and major theatrical events for these conferences.
However, her first love is musical theater and she looks forward
to a long and happy association with Lyric Light Opera of the
Northwest, exploring and developing ways to bring high quality
theatrical experiences and training to the communities of the
Greater Seattle area.
Debbie Wolf
Marketing Director

Squeezing 15 years into 8 at Microsoft,
Debbie Wolf worked both in Business Development and Marketing.
She was part of a small group that developed Microsoft's
business in South East Asia. She then joined Microsoft's
Far East Marketing team, introducing several marketing
initiatives to the North Asian subsidiaries. It is
estimated she has flown across the Pacific Ocean more than 70
times in her life. Among the countless opportunities she
had with a young but exploding company, she demonstrated Chinese
Windows for CBS's Eye to Eye with Connie Chung; and along with
the VP of Microsoft's Far East Region, had a private meeting
with the Prime Minister of Mongolia to discuss software business
in Asia. She has a B.S. in Mathematics from the University
of Washington.
Since
leaving Microsoft, she started two online
businesses; she also self published a gift book about her experience with breast cancer.
Currently, in addition to her involvement with Lyric Light
Opera, she designs websites and homeschools her children.
Growing up being very involved in
music and drama, she was especially impressed with the high
quality of Brenda
Mueller's work in directing
family-friendly, wholesome musical productions. She feels it
is a privilege to be supporting
entertainment that uplifts - because people always leave with a song in their hearts.
